Watch your web developer

One issue I come across when talking to small business owners is that they are not sure what their SEO Company or Web Design company is really doing for them.

Talking to Small business owners about their site these last few months, I have found many do not know the login details to their own website.

DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.

Web developers who are reluctant to pass you the details have something to hide and are basically holding you to ransom.

Sometimes it will be because they do not want you to know they built your site using a template on a site such as Wix.com or Squarespace.com and therefor can not justify the price they charged you.

Often they are reluctant to pass your login details to prevent another freelancer or agency from taking their business by fixing your site quickly, therefor showing them up for their shoddy work.
